appointment of adjunct professor at Georgia Tech

As of June 1, I was appointed an adjunct professor at Georgia Tech. This appointment will lead our research group to work closely together with Georgia Tech, which will benefit both Sungkyunwkwan University and Georgia Tech

sabbatical leave

I am taking a sabbatical leave in 2010 at the communications systems center (CSC), Georgia Tech. My office is located at #3418 in the Klaus advanced computing building (KACB). My two Ph.D students, Jungyoon Kim and Chan-Kyu Han, are also taking on-leave at Georgia Tech, in order to continue their researches with me.

Issac (Joonhyuk) Jean Choi was born on August 23rd, 2004. He is the first son in the family and has elder two sisters, Kaeun and Kayoung. I am glad to have him on board. Here are some his pictures.


Hyoung-Kee Choi received his B.S. degree from Sungkyunkwan University in Korea (1992), his M.S. degree from Polytechnic Institute of New York University (NYU-Poly) in New York (1996) and his Ph.D. degree from Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA (2001), respectively. The title of his Ph.D. dissertation is "Measurement, Characterization and Modeling of World Wide Web Traffic.

He joined Lancope in 2001 and remained until 2004 where he guided, and contributed to research in the Internet security. He held internships at BTC (1997), EchoStar (1998), Lucent Technologies (1999), and Broadcom (2000), respectively where he developed a Web traffic model and MAC protocols for different Internet access technologies. He was a recipient of the best employ award by AirloopTM group in Lucent Technologies.

Currently, he is a director of a education center for mobile communications (ECMC).
